Khadi and Village Industries Commission to Host Ten-Day Exhibition
Lucknow: Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), under the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, is organizing a State-Level Khadi and PMEGP Exhibition. The exhibition will be held from January 4, 2025, to January 13, 2025, at Gomti Riverfront, near Chatouri Gali, Lucknow.
The primary objective of the exhibition is to encourage the products created by rural artisans and craftsmen, thereby generating employment opportunities in rural areas. The exhibition will feature 75 stalls, showcasing products from Uttar Pradesh and other states, including Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand. Around 30 stalls will display Khadi products, while 45 stalls will feature products from small industrial units established under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).
The exhibition will be inaugurated on January 4, 2025, by Shri Manoj Kumar, Chairman of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Government of India.
Key Highlights:
Theme Pavilion: A special theme pavilion will be set up with the theme “Khadi Journey of the Past Decade: Achieving the Goal of Self-Reliant India.”
Marketing Platform: Entrepreneurs will have access to a robust marketing platform, including a Buyer-Seller Meet.
Khadi Products: A variety of Khadi products, including jackets, kurtas, shirts, coats, blankets, kosa sarees, Chanderi sarees, and silk sarees, will be available at a special discount of 20-25%.
Village Industry Products: Herbal tea, spices, pickles, amla murabba, Ayurvedic products, herbal cosmetics (such as soaps, shampoos, fragrant oils, ubtan, and henna), and handicrafts, including Bengal’s handmade wooden wall paintings and toys, will be key attractions.
Cultural Programs:
To add vibrancy to the event, cultural programs will be organized daily during the exhibition.
This initiative is expected to contribute significantly to achieving the vision of a self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat) by providing rural artisans with a wider platform to showcase their skills and products.
