┬аMinister Slams Slow Progress, ┬аAccountability Tightened
Anytime News Network . Uttar Pradesh Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh issued a stern ultimatum to companies working under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Bundelkhand and Vindhya regions, warning that FIRs will be lodged if 100% household water supply is not ensured within 30 days.
During a review meeting at Jal Nigam (Rural) office, the minister expressed strong displeasure over the slow pace of work by BGCC and L&T, stating that failure to meet deadlines could lead to criminal action against company owners, including jail.
He emphasized that negligence in providing drinking water to rural households would not be tolerated. Officials admitted that while most projects are complete, around 3% villages still face disrupted water supply due to damaged pipelines, which must be rectified immediately.
The minister also directed officials to maintain regular communication with public representatives, warning of action against those who fail to do so. He reviewed road restoration works, noting that 97% of the 9,772 km damaged roads have been repaired.
To ensure transparency and grievance redressal, the тАШJal Sarathi AppтАЩ was launched, allowing villagers to register complaints and track action taken.
The message is clear: delay will invite FIRs, excuses will not be accepted.
