. In a significant leap toward digital and inclusive banking, Bank of Baroda has launched its AI-powered multilingual communication platform ‘Bob Samvad’. The initiative was formally inaugurated by DFS Secretary M. Nagaraju, marking a new era in customer engagement.
Designed to bridge language gaps, the platform enables real-time, low-latency, two-way communication in 22 Indian languages. This innovation allows customers and bank staff to interact seamlessly in their preferred languages, ensuring clarity, efficiency, and improved service delivery.
With advanced AI-driven conversational and language technologies, ‘Bob Samvad’ translates queries instantly, allowing staff to understand customers better and respond accurately. The system also features both text and optional voice modes, making it accessible even for those who prefer listening over reading.
DFS Secretary M. Nagaraju praised the initiative, calling it a major step toward inclusive banking and enhanced customer experience through technology. He emphasized that such innovations set new benchmarks in the financial services sector.
MD & CEO Dr. Debadatta Chand highlighted that the platform reflects the bank’s commitment to combining AI with customer-centric design, making banking services more accessible and efficient.
In its initial phase, the platform will be deployed across 250 branches in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra, with plans for nationwide expansion.
This initiative not only strengthens customer service but also celebrates India’s linguistic diversity, aligning with the broader vision of Digital India.
