Digital Tools Boost Official Language Use

Union Bank of India organized a one-day “Women Special Hindi Workshop” on March 19, 2026, at its central office in Mumbai to mark International Women’s Day. The event was graced by Ashish Pandey, Managing Director & CEO, and Nitesh Ranjan, Executive Director.

The workshop featured Harish Singh Chauhan from the Ministry of Home Affairs as the Chief Guest, while Chitra Desai attended as the Special Guest.

During the event, women executives who made significant contributions toward promoting Hindi and empowering women within the bank were honored. Speakers emphasized the growing use of Hindi in banking operations and highlighted how digital tools and technological advancements have made working in the official language more efficient and accessible.

The discussion also focused on the importance of using mother tongue and regional languages in customer service. Key topics included women leadership development, evolving banking practices, and maintaining harmony in workplace culture.

Harish Singh Chauhan elaborated on the Government of India’s official language policies and stressed their effective implementation. Meanwhile, Chitra Desai delivered an inspiring lecture on women empowerment, motivating participants to strive for excellence.

The workshop aimed to encourage the use of Hindi in official work and inspire women employees. The event concluded with prize distribution for competition winners, marking a successful and impactful session.
