Questions Over Transparency in Lucknow Health Recruitment
ANYTIME NEWS NETWORK | Fresh allegations have surfaced regarding the contractual recruitment of 55 MBBS doctors for Health and Wellness Centres in Lucknow. Earlier, concerns were raised over whether seats meant for the General category were curtailed under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota. When questioned, Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak had stated that action would follow upon receiving a formal complaint.
The recruitment process, conducted under the Chief Medical Officer Office Lucknow, involved 350 candidates interviewed between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on January 7. That equals 480 minutes in total—averaging just 1 minute and 37 seconds per candidate.
Candidates allege that many interviews lasted barely a minute, raising doubts over whether the process was meaningful or merely procedural. Questions are also being raised about EWS certificate verification, transparency in merit listing, and whether the interviews were officially recorded.
If the process was transparent, why has the complete merit list not been made public? Was the EWS quota implemented strictly as per norms? These unanswered questions continue to cast a shadow over the recruitment drive.
The issue now extends beyond 55 appointments—it concerns the credibility of public health recruitment and institutional transparency.
