Jain Community Celebrates with Devotion, Promoting Peace, Non-Violence and Harmony

The birth anniversary of Mahavir Swami, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism, was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm across Lucknow. Jain temples witnessed a large turnout of devotees, reflecting a vibrant blend of spirituality and festivity.
A grand Rath Yatra from the Digambar Jain Temple emerged as the highlight of the celebrations. Passing through key city areas such as Aminabad and Charbagh, the procession carried the powerful message of “Live and Let Live,” echoing the core teachings of Lord Mahavir—non-violence, truth, and compassion.
The procession featured beautifully decorated horses, traditional carriages, and lively band performances. Women and youth danced to devotional songs, creating a festive and energetic atmosphere. The event was organized by Shri Jain Dharm Pravardhani Sabha with active participation from community leaders including Ashok Jain, Aadesh Kumar Jain, Tambu Kumar Jain, and others.
Members of the Ganini Gyanmati Avadh Provincial Women’s Organization Trust, including President Kshama Jain and Sunayna from Daliganj, also played a key role in the celebrations.
The day began with sacred rituals, morning prayers, and chanting of Vedic mantras, followed by religious discourses highlighting Lord Mahavir’s teachings. Speakers emphasized that following his path can help build a peaceful and harmonious society.
The celebrations concluded with prasad distribution, leaving behind a strong message of love, unity, and coexistence.
