Five Cultural Themes Capture the Spirit of the Festival

Marking the vibrant festival of colors, on March 2, 2026, the India Post, Uttar Pradesh Circle, organized a grand public presentation of a special five-picture postcard set themed on “Holi” at the Lucknow GPO.
The event was graced by Chief Postmaster General, Uttar Pradesh Circle, Mr. Pranav Kumar as the Chief Guest. Postmaster General, Headquarters Region Lucknow, Mr. Sunil Kumar Rai, and Director Postal Services (HQ), Dr. Anand Kumar Singh attended as distinguished guests. The dignitaries formally unveiled the special postcard set and dedicated it to the public.
The exclusive collection beautifully depicts five traditional themes associated with Holi—Holika Dahan, Phoolon Wali Holi, Lathmar Holi, Huranga Holi, and Rangbhari Ekadashi. Each postcard captures the vibrant colors, rich traditions, and cultural diversity of Uttar Pradesh, reflecting India’s festive spirit and folk heritage.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest emphasized that India Post has consistently taken creative initiatives to preserve and promote India’s cultural legacy through philatelic and commemorative releases. He noted that the Holi special set would not only attract collectors but also inspire younger generations to connect with the country’s postal heritage.
Officials and staff members from the regional office and Lucknow GPO, along with members of the press and media fraternity, were present at the ceremony. The launch of this special Holi postcard set stands as a meaningful tribute to India’s colorful traditions and reinforces India Post’s commitment to celebrating the nation’s cultural richness.
