Landmark MoU to Strengthen Disaster Policy Research

NDMA, AcSIR & CSIR-NIScPR Join Hands

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) and CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR) have signed a tripartite MoU to enhance academic programmes, policy research and science communication in Disaster Management and Risk Reduction (DMRR).

The agreement includes launching a PhD programme in Disaster Management, promoting interdisciplinary research, and strengthening public engagement. Officials emphasized integrating science with policy to build a disaster-resilient India aligned with the Prime Minister’s nine-point DRR agenda.

This collaboration aims to nurture a new generation of experts and reinforce India’s disaster preparedness framework through evidence-based policymaking and innovation.
