A community Iftar gathering was organised in Lucknow on March 10, 2026 by the Makhdoom Shahmeena Foundation during the holy month of Ramadan. The event took place at the historic Dargah Hazrat Makhdoom Shah Meena in the Shah Chowk area and was attended by several prominent citizens and members of the local community.

People from different sections of society gathered for the Iftar, where they broke their fast together and shared prayers for peace, harmony and prosperity. The event reflected the spirit of unity and brotherhood that Ramadan promotes.
Following the Iftar, a Peace Committee meeting was also held in view of the upcoming Alvida Juma and Eid al-Fitr. The meeting was attended by officials from the district administration and police department, along with representatives of social organisations and community leaders.

During the meeting, participants discussed measures to ensure that the upcoming festivals are celebrated in a peaceful and harmonious environment. Emphasis was placed on maintaining law and order, managing traffic and strengthening coordination between authorities and citizens during the festive period.

Syed Atiq Ahmed, Naib Sadr of the foundation, stated that such gatherings help strengthen social unity and promote mutual understanding among communities. He added that the foundation regularly organises such programmes during Ramadan to spread a positive message of peace and harmony.

The event was organised under the inspiration of the foundation’s founder Peerzada Sheikh Shakir Ali Meenai with the aim of encouraging dialogue and cooperation among different sections of society.
