ANYTIME NEWS NETWORK In a significant step toward strengthening emergency healthcare infrastructure in Kanpur, JK Cement Ltd. launched its CSR-driven ‘Jeevan Rakshak Initiative’ by donating two state-of-the-art Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) ambulances to the Mountain Medicine Society of India (Six Sigma Group). The fully equipped ambulances are now operational and available 24×7 to serve Kanpur and surrounding regions.
The flag-off ceremony was held at Kamla Nagar Colony, Kanpur, in the presence of prominent political leaders, senior administrative officials, police authorities, and distinguished members of civil society.
The chief guest on the occasion was Kanpur’s Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Ramesh Awasthi, who lauded JK Cement for setting a powerful example of corporate citizenship. He emphasized that when leading industries actively participate in social welfare initiatives, it accelerates community development and strengthens public-private partnerships. He further stated that such efforts contribute significantly to reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s healthcare mission.
The ceremony was led by Dr. Raghavpat Singhania, Managing Director of JK Cement Ltd., who reaffirmed the company’s emotional and social connection with Kanpur. He remarked that Kanpur is not merely an operational hub but home to the company’s legacy. According to him, industrial growth and community welfare must progress hand in hand. He clarified that the company is not merely donating vehicles but ensuring timely, high-quality emergency medical care for those in critical need.
Also present at the event was A.K. Sarawagi, Deputy Managing Director & Chief Financial Officer of JK Cement Ltd., who stated that the company will bear operational expenses and ensure the deployment of trained medical personnel along with advanced life-saving equipment to guarantee efficient service delivery.
The event witnessed the esteemed presence of senior administrative officials including K. Vijeyendra Pandian, Commissioner of Kanpur Division; Jitendra Pratap Singh, District Magistrate, Kanpur Nagar; Sankalp Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police; Raghubir Lal, ADG Police Commissioner, Kanpur City; Vipin Tada, Additional CP (Law & Order); and Amar Nath Yadav, DSP (ACP) & Staff Officer to CP/ACP, Kanpur City.
All dignitaries appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of immediate medical intervention during the “Golden Hour” — the critical period after a severe medical emergency when timely treatment significantly increases survival chances.
Among other distinguished attendees were Shri Mahendra Mohan Gupta, Shri Indra Mohan Rohatgi, and Shri Atul Kanodia, who praised the initiative as a socially responsible step by the corporate sector toward strengthening healthcare access.
The newly launched ACLS ambulances are designed as fully functional “Hospitals on Wheels.” Unlike conventional patient transport vehicles, they are equipped with advanced ventilators, defibrillators, multi-parameter monitors, oxygen delivery systems, emergency medications, and integrated GPS tracking for rapid response and real-time monitoring. These ambulances are capable of handling severe cardiac emergencies, road accidents, and other life-threatening conditions with immediate pre-hospital care.
The initiative is also dedicated to the memory of late Gaur Hari Singhania, whose sudden demise due to cardiac arrest inspired this life-saving commitment. The company emphasized that its core objective is to ensure that no life is lost due to the lack of timely medical transportation.
Speaking on behalf of the implementing organization, Dr. Pradeep Bhardwaj, President of the Mountain Medicine Society of India, stated that these ACLS ambulances are not merely vehicles but mobile critical care units. With trained paramedics and emergency specialists, the service will operate round-the-clock to provide advanced pre-hospital care across the city.
This initiative forms part of JK Cement’s broader CSR framework, which focuses on healthcare, education, and sustainable community development. The company reiterated its commitment to supporting long-term, impactful solutions that enhance public infrastructure and improve quality of life.
The ACLS ambulance services are now fully operational. In case of emergency, citizens can contact the helpline numbers: 99999 78780 or 75077 70777.
With this initiative, JK Cement has reinforced its commitment to Kanpur’s wellbeing, presenting a strong model of public-private collaboration that could inspire similar healthcare interventions across the state and beyond.
