110+ AI Startups Featured in India’s First National Impact Repository

ANYTIME NEWS NETWORK. In a significant step toward mapping India’s growing artificial intelligence ecosystem, the IndiaAI Mission in collaboration with Kalpa Impact has released the “India’s AI Impact Startups” report. The repository was unveiled at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 and features more than 110 startups and non-profit organizations leveraging AI for large-scale social and economic impact.

This marks the first systematic mapping of India’s impact-driven AI ecosystem. The report highlights ventures working across diverse sectors including healthcare, agriculture, education, climate action, financial inclusion, urban mobility, and public service delivery. It reflects how Indian founders are building locally designed yet globally relevant AI solutions.

The analysis reveals that voice AI and vernacular language interfaces are emerging as critical tools to reach underserved populations. A growing number of startups are also investing in Made-in-India foundation models, strengthening the country’s technological self-reliance. The repository is expected to serve as a valuable reference for policymakers seeking AI solutions aligned with public infrastructure, investors identifying scalable and mature enterprises, and global development institutions looking for replicable models from the Global South.

Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Director General of NIC, and CEO of the IndiaAI Mission, described the compendium as a practical resource that provides stakeholders with a structured overview of initiatives aligned with public objectives and ready for integration with India’s digital public infrastructure.

Mohammad Y. Safirulla K., an official with the IndiaAI Mission, noted that India’s AI ecosystem is entering a phase of maturity, with startups moving beyond pilot projects to delivering solutions that serve millions.

Sushant Kumar, Founder and CEO of Kalpa Impact, emphasized that India’s AI startups are focused on “super-utility” applications—deploying AI to solve real-world public service challenges. From offline “edge AI” systems to voice bots in local dialects, Indian innovators are developing full-stack solutions relevant not only to the subcontinent but also to emerging economies worldwide.

The repository positions India as a rising AI innovation and export hub for the developing world.https://d19ob9sqegt2wc.cloudfront.net/stage/uploads/India_s_AI_Impact_Startups_Compendium_Report_Design_For_Web_4089ae98f7.pdf
