Anytime News Network The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Uttar Pradesh organized a high-level business interaction with a South African delegation led by H.E. Prof. Anil Sooklal, High Commissioner of South Africa to India, along with Deputy High Commissioner Cedrick C. Crowley.
Expanding Bilateral Economic Engagement
The interaction provided a significant platform for industry members to deliberate on trade, investment, and technology partnerships between South Africa and Uttar Pradesh.
Prof. Sooklal highlighted the strong presence of Indian companies in South Africa and emphasized collaboration in the energy sector, particularly renewable energy and green hydrogen. He also noted that negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two nations are underway, expected to unlock fresh trade and investment opportunities.
Emerging Opportunities for Collaboration
CII representatives stressed Uttar Pradesh’s emergence as a preferred investment destination and expressed optimism about strengthening bilateral partnerships. Key sectors discussed included agriculture, food processing, manufacturing, skilling, infrastructure, and sustainable development.
Industry leaders showed keen interest in exploring joint ventures, market access, and institutional partnerships to further enhance economic cooperation between both regions.
