Lucknowpex Showcases Young Creativity Through Stamp Design Contest
Anytime News Network — On the third day of the Regional Fruit, Vegetable, and Flower Exhibition at Jan Bhavan, the Department of Posts organized an engaging event under “Lucknowpex,” featuring a stamp design competition, a philatelic workshop, and a seminar. The program was graced by Sunil Kumar Rai, Postmaster General, Headquarters Region, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across leading schools in the city.
Students from Bal Vidya Mandir, Loreto Convent College, Army Public School, Narayana e-Techno School, Navyug Radiance Public School, St. Fidelis College, Stella Maris Inter College, and Adarsh Madhyamik Vidyalaya displayed remarkable creativity. Their stamp designs reflected diverse social, cultural, and national themes, highlighting artistic talent and imaginative thinking.
During the philatelic workshop and seminar, expert philatelists explained the history, significance, and educational value of stamp collecting. The initiative aimed to cultivate interest in philately among students while helping them understand India’s heritage, culture, and historical milestones through postage stamps.
The activities received an encouraging response from participants and attendees alike. Winners securing first, second, and third positions in the competition will be awarded soon.
The district-level stamp exhibition “Lucknowpex” also attracted philatelists from Lucknow and several districts across Uttar Pradesh, who showcased rare and collectible stamps. Their participation significantly enhanced the exhibition’s grandeur and appeal, making the event both educational and inspiring for the younger generation.
