ANYTIME NEWS NETWORK. Ashwini Kumar Tewari, Managing Director of SBI inaugurated a series of CSR projects during his visit to Lucknow today. Two key projects namely, ‘SBI Gram Seva’ and ‘SBI Sammaan- Homage to the National Heroes’ are being implemented by SBI Foundation, in Hardoi and Unnao Districts respectively. The total grant of approx. Six crore rupees has been allocated to these projects, to be implemented for a period of two years.
The MD visited the Gram Seva project villages in Hardoi District and flagged off few key activities like ‘Shalihotra Express – Mobile Veterinary Services’, ‘Swachhata Saathi- Waste Management Services’, and inaugurated the digital facilities, which include computer lab, Youth training room, Pink Room for girls and Smart classroom, provided at Janta Inter-College in Mahmdapur. ‘Lance Nayak Jadunath Singh (Param Veer Chakra) Youth Academy’ was inaugurated, which is set to offer free trainings for holistic development of youth, being implemented by NGO – AROH Foundation. During the visit to Hardoi District, MD also formally inaugurated the SBI Branch at Atrauli.
At SBI local Head Office, the MD handed over CSR grant cheques of approx. one crore rupees each to two NGOs, Sahbhagi Shikshan Kendra and New Public School Samiti for implementation of ‘SBI Sammaan’, to develop the native villages of great poet Suryakant Tripathi ‘Nirala’ (Gadha Kola), and freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad (Badarka) respectively.
Speaking at the event, the MD stated, “SBI remains steadfast in its commitment to social upliftment, with a strong focus on grassroot rural development, in line with the Bank’s philosophy of reaching the remote and difficult terrains. We also take immense pride in paying our humble homage to great poet Suryakant Tripathi ‘Nirala’, and freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad, two prominent personalities from the region, in a meaningful way by working towards development of their native villages and highlighting their legacy to future generations.”
