UPNEDA partners with HCL GUVI to train Government Officials on AI to drive Productivity and Innovation

Towards accelerating Uttar Pradesh’s digital future, HCL GUVI, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), has successfully conducted an intensive AI upskilling program. Over 100 UPNEDA officials were trained in the latest Generative AI (GenAI) technologies, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of transforming India into a global AI leader through initiatives like Karma Yogi Bharath.
The AI upskilling program was strategically designed to equip UPNEDA officials with essential, job-specific digital capabilities. By blending practical training with GUVI’s expertise, the program introduced participants to advanced Generative AI tools for drafting official documents, multilingual platforms for more effective communication, and automation techniques to simplify routine processes.
The immersive, mentor-led training, held from March 19 to March 20, 2025, provided hands-on learning in AI applications covering prompt engineering, content automation, multilingual communication, and AI-powered document management. This initiative aims to modernize public sector operations, boost efficiency, and support UPNEDA’s mission of driving renewable energy projects with technology-enabled governance.
Shri Anupam Shukla, IAS, Director of UPNEDA, underlined the program’s significance:
“This training is more than skill development — it’s about equipping our workforce with the tools to deliver smarter, faster, and more effective governance. By empowering UPNEDA officials with AI capabilities, we’re setting the foundation for a tech-driven, sustainable Uttar Pradesh.”
Arun Prakash M, Founder & CEO of GUVI, spoke on the transformative potential of AI education:
“Upskilling with AI isn’t just a personal advantage, it drives organizational change. Each trained official becomes an innovator, creating smarter systems, streamlining operations, and contributing to the state’s digital transformation. This collaboration with UPNEDA is a key milestone in shaping a future-ready workforce.”
Apoorv Johari, Head of GUVI for Corporates, reflected on the program’s success:
“The energy and engagement from UPNEDA’s officialss were remarkable. Focusing on practical AI applications such as automating routine tasks and streamlining multilingual communication, we’ve empowered participants with the confidence and skills to create immediate, lasting improvements in their work.”
