Defence Minister and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Witness the Historic Occasion*

Lucknow – Aerolloy Technologies Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of PTC Industries Limited, laid the foundation for eight significant defence projects under India’s first Strategic Materials Technology Complex at the Lucknow node of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor.

At this historic event, the Honourable Defence Minister and Honourable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh jointly inaugurated India’s largest Titanium and Superalloy Materials Plant, and laid the foundation stones for seven additional state-of-the-art facilities.

India has long depended on imports for critical materials used in defence platforms like airframes, missiles, and turbine engines. This new Strategic Complex will help free the nation from this dependence and strengthen its resilience against global disruptions. It marks a major step toward a self-reliant India.

Key Projects:

1. Titanium & Superalloy Materials Plant (Inaugurated)

• Annual production capacity of 6,000 tonnes

• World’s largest single-site titanium remelting facility

• Utilizes advanced technologies such as VAR (Vacuum Arc Remelting), EB (Electron Beam), PAM (Plasma Arc Melting), and VIM (Vacuum Induction Melting)

2. Aerospace Precision Castings Plant

• Critical castings for jet engines and airframes

• First-ever production of Single Crystal Castings in India

3. Aerospace Forge Shop and Mill Products Plant

• Billets, bars, and plates made from titanium and superalloys

• Will make India self-reliant in aerospace-grade wrought products

4. Aerospace Precision Machining Shop

• Ultra-precision CNC machining

• Enables export of ready-to-assemble components

5. Strategic Powder Metallurgy Facility

• Production of Additive Manufacturing (AM)-grade metal powders

• Will place India among a select few countries with this capability

6. STrIDE Academy

• Skilling in CNC, robotics, welding, mechatronics, etc.

• Will develop human resources for aerospace manufacturing

7. R&D Centre

• Focus on alloy and process innovation

• Supports long-term innovation and intellectual property creation

On this occasion, UK-based Trac Precision Solutions also formally entered the Indian defence ecosystem. For the first time, India will possess end-to-end capabilities for producing and finishing Single Crystal Airfoils.

India currently imports defence-grade materials worth approximately ₹14,000 crore annually, a figure projected to rise to ₹35,000 crore by 2026. This complex by Aerolloy Technologies is fully aligned with the Ministry of Defence’s vision to eliminate dependency and achieve self-reliance.

This is a transformative achievement for India. This complex is not merely an industrial initiative — it is the cornerstone of India’s strategic autonomy, scientific excellence, and global leadership.

It will place India among the few nations globally with full-spectrum capability in defence materials. India will no longer be just a consumer of defence equipment, but a manufacturer and exporter as well.
