Air-conditioning and refrigeration products are likely to become costlier from April as rising global raw-material prices are putting pressure on the industry. Daikin Industries North India Marketing Head Ravi Taneja said during a press conference at the company’s Lucknow office that prices in the AC and refrigerator sector may increase by 7–12 percent in the coming month.
According to him, the sharp surge in the cost of imported materials such as copper and refrigerant gas has significantly impacted manufacturing costs. “These materials are largely imported and their prices have risen three to five times in recent months. Because of this pressure, the entire industry may be compelled to raise prices,” he said.
Highlighting the company’s product features, Taneja stated that Daikin offers three levels of protection to customers at the time of purchase. This includes a one-year full warranty, a five-year warranty on the PCB (power control board), and a ten-year warranty on the compressor. Installation services are also available at ₹699 plus GST.

He further noted that the company’s energy-efficient products have been recognized multiple times by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency. Between 2017 and 2025, Daikin received three awards from the Government of India for outstanding product performance and energy efficiency.
Taneja also introduced the company’s new Alpha AI-based air conditioners, which automatically adjust cooling based on room conditions and user preferences. He advised consumers planning to purchase an AC to consider buying it this month, as prices are expected to rise from April.
Speaking on service infrastructure, East UP Branch Operations Head Shakti Singh said the company is expanding its service network to cover every postal index area, ensuring that customers do not face difficulties in accessing after-sales support.
He added that three Centres of Excellence have been established in Kanpur and Prayagraj to train technical manpower not only for Daikin but for the broader HVAC industry as well.
