130 Meritorious Students to Receive 156 Medals; Differently-Abled Achievers Set New Benchmark

Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University is set to celebrate academic excellence and inclusive education at its 13th Convocation Ceremony on July 31, where 1,919 graduates will receive their degrees and 130 outstanding students will be honoured with 156 academic medals. Speaking during a press conference marking two successful years in office, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Singh highlighted the university’s remarkable achievements in education, research and accessibility.

Celebrating Academic Brilliance

The convocation will award 76 Gold, 40 Silver and 40 Bronze medals, recognising exceptional academic performance. A total of 955 female and 964 male students will receive degrees, while 17 scholars will be awarded PhD degrees.

Differently-Abled Students Rewrite Success Story

One of the most inspiring highlights is the outstanding performance of 27 differently-abled students, who secured 45 medals, including 22 Gold medals. Their achievements reflect the university’s commitment to equal opportunity and inclusive academic excellence.

Technology Driving Inclusion

Over the past two years, the university has expanded e-governance through the Samarth Portal, introduced AI-powered smart glasses, implemented scribe-free examinations for visually impaired students, and strengthened assistive technologies, enabling students to demonstrate their abilities with confidence and independence.

Research and Innovation on the Rise

Faculty members have submitted 60 research projects to various national funding agencies, reinforcing the institution’s growing reputation in innovation, rehabilitation research and academic excellence.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Singh emphasised that the university’s mission extends beyond awarding degrees. Its vision is to build a compassionate, inclusive and empowered society where every student, irrespective of physical ability, receives equal opportunities to succeed.
