. In a major step toward transforming public transport infrastructure, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is set to develop 49 bus stations under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The move is expected to significantly upgrade passenger experience and attract private investment into the sector.

Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh stated that the stations will be developed under the DBFOT model, enabling efficient construction, operation, and maintenance with private sector participation.

These upgraded bus stations will offer modern amenities such as clean waiting lounges, digital information systems, shopping areas, food courts, and even entertainment zones like cinemas—bringing them at par with contemporary transport hubs.

The construction of new bus stations in districts like Bulandshahr, Balrampur, and Hathras will strengthen regional connectivity and improve access for both rural and urban populations.

Policy relaxations, including simplified technical eligibility and extended timelines, are expected to attract more investors, ensuring competitive and high-quality development.

Additionally, the project is set to generate significant employment opportunities at the local level, both directly and indirectly, through associated commercial activities.

Officials believe that this initiative will not only enhance commuter convenience but also boost UPSRTC’s revenue, paving the way for a more sustainable and efficient transport system in Uttar Pradesh.
