Senior BJP leader and State Convenor of the BJP Trade Cell, Vineet Agarwal Sharda, has submitted a detailed memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, highlighting the serious problems faced by traders in Meerut, particularly those in Shastri Nagar Central Market.
He informed the leadership that despite the demolition of a commercial complex in September 2025 following a Supreme Court order, affected traders have not received promised rehabilitation or financial assistance. Sharda urged the government to provide alternative shops, financial relief, and security.
The memorandum also outlined key development demands for Meerut and western Uttar Pradesh, including industrial parks, an airport, AIIMS-level hospital, ring road, railway station modernization, sports park, and a High Court bench. He expressed gratitude for the Namo Bharat train and Metro services, stating they would significantly boost trade and economic growth.
