A series of incidents targeting traders in Meerut has triggered serious concerns over law and order, putting local authorities under intense scrutiny. Cases involving assault, misconduct, and fire damage to shops have created an atmosphere of fear within the business community.

Amid rising tensions, BJP Trade Cell State Convenor Vineet Agarwal Sharda visited the affected traders immediately after returning from a धार्मिक trip, signaling urgency and dissatisfaction with the current response of the administration.

He first met the family of a trader whose son was allegedly assaulted in the Hapur Adda area. Subsequent visits to Bhagat Singh Market and Surya Plaza, where incidents of misbehavior and fire damage were reported, further highlighted the gravity of the situation.

Sharda’s strong reaction and direct communication with police officials reflect growing frustration over delayed or inadequate action. He demanded swift arrests and strict measures, indirectly questioning the efficiency of local law enforcement.

Traders have voiced concerns that repeated incidents are disrupting business activities and eroding confidence in safety mechanisms. Many allege that preventive policing has been lacking, allowing such incidents to recur.

While police officials have assured prompt action, skepticism remains about whether these assurances will translate into tangible improvements on the ground.

Sharda’s statement—declaring Meerut his home district and warning against any harassment of traders—has added political weight to the issue, intensifying pressure on the administration to deliver results.
