A major controversy has erupted in Lucknow after Hind Charitable Trust, during a press conference held at Shekhar Hospital, levelled serious allegations of financial irregularities and an alleged conspiracy to take over its institution. However, the accused, Varun Srivastava, has now responded with a detailed rebuttal, rejecting all claims and raising counter-questions.
The Trust, led by Chairman Dr. Amod Kumar Sachan and Chairperson Dr. Richa Mishra, alleged that Varun Srivastava and his associates orchestrated a planned operation to access internal financial data and carried out irregular transactions worth ₹20–22 crore. It also claimed that nearly ₹10 crore taken for construction work at Hind Medical College remains unutilized, with projects still incomplete. Allegations of forged trust deeds, false FIR attempts, and legal manipulation were also highlighted.
Responding to these accusations, Varun Srivastava termed them “baseless and misleading.” Addressing the issue of having multiple PAN and DIN numbers, he clarified that he holds only one PAN. According to him, a discrepancy in his date of birth (earlier recorded as 1983 instead of 1982) led to technical corrections. The updated PAN is now the only valid document linked to his Income Tax and GST records, and the DIN was revised accordingly.
On the financial front, Varun countered the Trust’s claims by pointing towards internal fund distribution. He stated that in the “Interlinked Dawa Mandi” firm, Rajshekhar holds a 40% partnership and allegedly received around ₹9.40 crore as salary, whereas Varun himself received only ₹24 lakh. He questioned why accountability is being fixed solely on him while ignoring other stakeholders.
Varun also challenged the Trust’s claims regarding the authenticity of the Trust Deed. He asserted that the original deed contains photographs of four members, while the document presented by the Trust reportedly has only two. He further raised a critical inconsistency, questioning how a person allegedly shown as deceased in documents could expel another member—calling it a serious contradiction.
Meanwhile, the Trust maintains that it has been operating transparently since 2004, with regular audits and no financial wrongdoing. It has already filed an FIR in Barabanki naming multiple accused, and the matter is currently under judicial review in a Lucknow court.
At present, the case stands as a complex legal and financial dispute, with both sides presenting sharply opposing narratives. While the Trust describes it as a calculated conspiracy to seize control, Varun Srivastava claims he is being falsely implicated and has instead raised questions about the Trust’s internal functioning.
The final outcome now hinges on the ongoing police investigation and court proceedings, which are expected to bring clarity to the conflicting claims.
