The second edition of the National Annual Conference on Precision Medicine and Intensive Care (PMIC-2025) entered Day 2 on 26th July 2025, hosted at the prestigious Atal Bihari Vajpayee Scientific Convention Centre, King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow. Themed “Innovating Intensive Care through Precision Medicine: Research to Real-World Outcomes,” the conference brought together over 400 registered delegates and leaders across disciplines, driving forward India’s movement in personalized critical care.
Day 2 Highlights:
Inaugural Ceremony:
The inaugural session was graced by national luminaries and academic leaders, highlighting India’s growing role in precision diagnostics and critical care innovation. The event set the tone for translational thinking in medicine—bridging science, technology, and bedside care.
Beacon of Precision Medicine Award:
The prestigious Beacon of Precision Medicine Award was presented to Padma Shri Prof. Soniya Nityanand, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of KGMU. A trailblazer in hematology and stem cell biology, she was recognized for her visionary leadership and transformative role in embedding precision medicine into institutional frameworks and patient care pathways.
Lifetime Achievement Award:
The Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred upon Padma Bhushan Dr. B.K. Rao, Chairman, Critical Care & Emergency Medicine, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. A pioneer in Indian critical care medicine, Dr. Rao’s legacy includes four decades of leadership, mentoring, policy contribution, and the founding of the Institute of Critical Care Medicine in 1983.
Presidential Citation:
Dr. Shantanu Prakash, Vice President of the Society and a key architect of the Precision Medicine Unit at KGMU, was honored with the Presidential Citation. His pioneering role in integrating molecular diagnostics with bedside decision-making has catalyzed a precision care revolution in Indian ICUs.
Young Investigator Awards:
Two emerging leaders in translational research, Dr. Suruchi Shukla and Dr. Akshay Anand, received the Young Investigator Awards for their outstanding scientific contributions in personalized critical care and molecular diagnostics. Their work reflects the future promise of PMIC in fostering clinician-scientists.
