Say Goodbye to Potholes! Revolutionary ‘Ecofix’ Tech to Turn Industrial Waste into Bulletproof Delhi Roads!
Anytime News Network (English) – By Pooja Shrivastava
In what can be called the biggest civic infrastructure update for the national capital, Delhi’s roads are all set to undergo a massive, high-tech transformation! To eliminate the chronic issue of potholes and sub-standard road construction, CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI) and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) officially signed a historic Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on June 10, 2026. This strategic partnership aims to overhaul road quality supervision, structural evaluation, and technical capacity building for MCD engineers.
The absolute showstopper of this grand collaboration is the official rollout of ‘Ecofix’—a rapid and highly sustainable pothole repair technology. Invented by Shri Satish Pandey, Head of the Flexible Pavement Division at CSIR-CRRI, this cutting-edge technology utilizes processed iron and steel slag aggregates (industrial waste) to fix broken roads almost instantly. By reusing industrial by-products, the initiative heavily champions the Modi Government’s national vision of “Waste to Wealth” and fosters a sustainable circular economy.
MCD Commissioner Shri Sanjeev Khirwar (IAS) fiercely advocated the transition toward technology-driven urban planning, stating that ‘Ecofix’ will enable lightning-fast, long-lasting repairs. Adding to this, Dr. Choudhary Ravi Shekhar, Director of CSIR-CRRI, highlighted that green technologies like Ecofix, Rejupeave, and MSS+ drastically reduce carbon emissions and conserve depleting natural resources.
The environmental impact of this upgrade is projected to be massive. Better road surfaces mean a significant drop in road dust generation, directly tackling Delhi’s severe air pollution crisis. The high-profile signing event was attended by top-tier bureaucrats and scientific masterminds, including MCD’s Engineer-in-Chief Shri Prem Chand Meena and Chief Engineer Shri Brijesh Kumar. Delhiites can finally look forward to smoother, eco-friendly, and completely pothole-free futuristic commutes very soon!
