In a major step toward sustainable urban development, HCLFoundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Urban Development Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, to strengthen scientific waste management and urban sanitation across Agra, Prayagraj, and Hardoi under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Technology-Driven Urban Transformation
The partnership will focus on strategic planning, pilot projects, policy reforms, and technology-enabled waste management systems aimed at improving sanitation services and creating cleaner, healthier urban environments.
New Infrastructure for Hardoi
As part of the initiative, 10 e-drain carts, 10 e-garbage loaders, and three reverse vending machines were launched for the Hardoi Municipal Council. The project also includes city beautification through wall art and the development of three model markets and three model wards.
Community at the Core
Implemented under HCLFoundation’s flagship My Clean City programme, the initiative promotes citizen participation alongside scientific waste management practices. The programme has now expanded its footprint to Agra, Prayagraj, and Hardoi after achieving notable success in Noida and Greater Noida.
Driving Sustainable Urban Growth
Officials from both HCLFoundation and the Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Department stated that the collaboration combines institutional support with implementation expertise to accelerate urban sanitation reforms, strengthen waste management systems, and create scalable models for sustainable city development across the state.
