Life-Saving Medical Awareness Campaign Aims to Reach Every Household
: In a significant move to promote emergency medical awareness among citizens, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled the Hindi edition of “The Red Book of Emergency – Life Saving Tips,” an initiative developed by SACTEM Foundation to help people recognize medical emergencies and take timely action.
Authored by Dr. Lokendra Gupta, Director of Emergency Medicine and Trauma Care at Medanta Hospital, Lucknow, and co-authored by Dr. Utsav Anand Mani, the book has been designed in simple Hindi to make critical life-saving information accessible to the masses. It focuses on identifying emergency warning signs, understanding medical red flags, and taking appropriate steps before reaching a hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gupta said that during his two decades of experience in emergency medicine, he witnessed countless cases where patients lost valuable time because family members failed to recognize symptoms or relied on misinformation and unqualified treatments. According to him, lack of awareness remains one of the biggest barriers to timely medical intervention.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the initiative and emphasized the importance of spreading such knowledge among students and young citizens. He noted that awareness about emergency response should become a part of community education, enabling people to save lives during critical situations.
The book covers a wide range of topics, including heart attacks, strokes, accidents, burns, poisoning, severe infections, bleeding emergencies, common myths and facts, and step-by-step guidance for handling crises before professional medical help arrives. QR codes linked to educational videos and awareness resources have also been included.
Published by Jaypee Brothers Medical Publishers, the book is now available on Amazon and other leading online platforms. Health experts believe the initiative can play a transformative role in educating citizens about the importance of the “golden hour” and ensuring quicker medical responses during emergencies.
More than just a book, the campaign represents a broader mission to create a safer, more informed, and life-saving society across India.
