Gender Budget Jumps to ₹5.01 Lakh Crore in FY 2026-27

11.55% Rise, 53 Ministries Covered

Anytime News Network: The Union Government has allocated ₹5.01 lakh crore for women and girls in the Gender Budget Statement for FY 2026-27, marking an 11.55% increase over the previous year.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted that the share of gender-focused spending in the total budget has risen to 9.37%.

A record 53 ministries and five Union Territories have been covered, with four new departments added this year. The highest allocations have gone to the Ministry of Women and Child Development and Ministry of Rural Development, reflecting the government’s focus on inclusive growth and gender equality.
