In a landmark initiative, mega legal and social awareness camps were successfully conducted across all 74 districts of Uttar Pradesh under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority and the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority.
This unprecedented statewide campaign directly benefited over 2.4 million citizens (24,56,857 beneficiaries), marking one of the largest coordinated legal aid drives in India. All major government departments were brought together on a unified platform to ensure seamless and comprehensive delivery of welfare schemes to the public.
Extensive pre-camp awareness programmes were conducted to identify eligible beneficiaries in advance, enabling them to access government schemes efficiently during the Mega Camp. Vulnerable sections including women, labourers, differently-abled persons, and economically weaker groups received legal advice, welfare scheme enrolment, social security benefits and essential services at a single venue.
Officials described the initiative as a historic milestone in strengthening access to justice and ensuring last-mile delivery of welfare schemes. The campaign witnessed active supervision by senior judicial authorities and close coordination with district administrations.
The Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority expressed gratitude to the State administration and citizens for their overwhelming participation, calling the initiative a major step toward inclusive justice and social empowerment.
