ANYTIME NEWS NETWORK. In the largest anti-drug operation ever conducted in Madhya Pradesh, the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) busted a clandestine methamphetamine manufacturing laboratory in Thavalay village of Mhow tehsil, Indore district. During the intensive three-day operation, officials seized 51.992 kg of high-quality methamphetamine (MD), over 260 kg of precursor chemicals, and sophisticated manufacturing equipment. Three individuals have been arrested.
The operation began on the night of February 13, 2026, after CBNтАЩs Neemuch unit received specific intelligence inputs. Acting swiftly, officers intercepted a bus in Mandsaur and recovered 8.172 kg of crystal methamphetamine from two passengers. During interrogation, the accused revealed that the consignment originated from a secret manufacturing unit.
Joint teams from Neemuch, Mandsaur, Jaora, and Ujjain tracked down the suspected facility near Mhow. Due to toxic fumes and hazardous chemical exposure risks, a specialized team equipped with PPE kits was deployed.
The illegal laboratory was fitted with advanced plant machinery. Technical assistance from the Government Opium and Alkaloid Works (GOAW), Neemuch, was sought to safely dismantle and neutralize the equipment. The operation concluded successfully on the morning of February 15.
All seized narcotics and materials were confiscated under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Authorities have also detained the property owner where the illicit lab was operating.
Further investigations are underway to dismantle the wider synthetic drug network involved in manufacturing and distribution. Officials described the operation as a landmark success in IndiaтАЩs fight against synthetic narcotics.
