New Leadership at MCF: Focus on Innovation, Quality and Railway Modernization

Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli, has a new leader at the helm as Raman Krishnan assumed charge as General Manager on April 9, 2026. His appointment is expected to bring renewed momentum to production efficiency, quality standards, and innovation at one of Indian Railways’ प्रमुख manufacturing units.
A senior officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), Shri Krishnan belongs to the 1990 batch and carries over three decades of extensive experience across Indian Railways. Before this role, he served as Chief Administrative Officer at Integral Coach Factory.
Over the years, he has held several key positions including Chief Mechanical Engineer and Chief Rolling Stock Engineer in South Western Railway, Chief Workshop Engineer at Rail Wheel Factory, Senior Professor at IRIMEE Jamalpur, and Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer in Southern Railway and Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala.
He has also undergone advanced management training in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, along with completing a Management Development Programme at National Academy of Indian Railways.
Recognized for his excellence, Shri Krishnan has received the General Manager’s Award twice, notably for his role in exporting coaches to Vietnam National Railways and for procurement of HHP locomotive spares. He has also been honored twice with the Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer’s Award.
With deep expertise in diesel traction, coach manufacturing, workshop management, and rolling stock technology, Shri Raman Krishnan is set to lead MCF Raebareli towards new milestones in modernization and growth.
