RDSO Showcases Technological Strength of Indian Railways
J&K Media Delegation Explores Advanced Research Labs in Lucknow

Under the Government of India’s Development Communication and Information Dissemination (DCID) programme, a media delegation from Jammu & Kashmir visited the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) in Lucknow on March 27, 2026. Officials from the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Lucknow, accompanied the delegation during the visit.
The delegation toured various state-of-the-art testing laboratories and research facilities at RDSO, gaining insights into the advanced technologies and innovations being implemented to make Indian Railways safer, more efficient, and future-ready.
Director General Prabhas Danasena, along with senior officials, interacted with the visiting media representatives and elaborated on the organization’s pivotal role in providing technical support to Indian Railways. They highlighted how RDSO contributes to enhancing safety standards, introducing modern designs, and driving research-based innovations.
The session also included an interactive Q&A segment, where officials addressed queries from the delegation, offering a deeper understanding of the technical advancements in railway infrastructure and operations.
In his address, the Director General emphasized that RDSO is an integral part of Indian Railways, playing a crucial role in transforming it into a globally competitive, reliable, and technologically advanced network.
