The Society of Acute Care Trauma and Emergency Medicine (SACTEM) successfully concluded its major national academic event in Lucknow, bringing together leading emergency and critical care experts from AIIMS, PGIMER, SGPGIMS, MEDANTA, KGMU and RMLIMS.

National Round Table Discussion – Completed Successfully

 

The high-level National Round Table Discussion concluded with expert deliberations on two important pillars of emergency care:

1. Safe Infusion Practices

2. Management of Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) in Emergency Departments

 

The recommendations will now be compiled into National Consensus Guidelines for nationwide implementation.

 

 

2-Day CME & Hands-On Workshop Successfully Conducted (6–7 December 2025)

 

SACTEM, in collaboration with SGPGI Lucknow, executed a highly successful 2-day CME covering:

• Infectious Diseases

• Mechanical Ventilation Workshop – VENTPRO

• Emergency Ultrasound Workshop – PULSE

 

PULSE (Proactive Ultrasound in Life-Saving Emergencies)

was conducted to strengthen point-of-care ultrasound skills among emergency physicians.

 

VENTPRO (Ventilation Proficiency Program)

focused on structured hands-on ventilator training, including ARDS, COPD, weaning strategies, loops/curves, and advanced modes.

 

Sessions were held across SGPGIMS Auditorium Complex, HG Khurana Auditorium, and Medanta Lucknow, with active participation from more than 60 national faculty experts.

 

 

Free Training for Government Medical Officers – A Major Highlight

 

SACTEM successfully completed its special initiative offering Free Skill Training for doctors from:

• NAMO clinics

• District Hospitals

• Government Medical Establishments

 

Training covered:

• USG – PULSE

• Ventilator – VENTPRO

 

This initiative aims to enhance emergency care delivery across Uttar Pradesh.

 

 

Chief Guest’s Address

 

Prof. R. K. Dhiman, Director, SGPGIMS, served as the Chief Guest.

He emphasised:

• the crucial role of Emergency Physicians during the Golden Hour

• the importance of USG-PULSE and VENTPRO training programs

• the impact of structured, hands-on skill development for government sector doctors

 

 

Leadership

 

The event was led by:

• Dr. Alka Verma – Organising Secretary

• Dr. Lokendra Gupta – Organising Chairman

 

along with strong academic partnership from SGPGIMS and participation from faculty nationwide.

 

 

Conclusion

 

With enthusiastic engagement from practitioners across the country, the 2-day national event successfully enhanced clinical preparedness in emergency and critical care medicine.

SACTEM reaffirmed its commitment to continuing PULSE and VENTPRO workshops to strengthen emergency systems in Uttar Pradesh.
