Event reflects Lucknow’s famed Ganga-Jamuni cultural heritage

: The holy month of Ramadan witnessed a remarkable display of unity and communal harmony in Lucknow as a grand Roza Iftar gathering brought together people from different faiths and communities. The event was jointly organized by the UP District Recognized Journalists Association and the Jashn-e-Azadi Organization.

Held at Taiyab Hall in Aishbagh Eidgah, the gathering saw the participation of religious leaders, journalists, social activists and public representatives who sat together to break the fast and prayed for peace, prosperity and harmony in the state. Participants described the event as a living example of Lucknow’s rich Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb, symbolizing coexistence and mutual respect among communities.

Among the prominent personalities present were Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali, Murlidhar Ahuja, Vedvrat Bajpai, Rajendra Singh Bagga, Harpal Singh Jaggi, V B Pandey, Sandeep Pandey and Mohd Ali Sahil along with many other distinguished guests.

After the Iftar, Maulana Mushtaq led the Maghrib prayers and offered special supplications for the unity of the nation and the strengthening of social harmony.
Speakers at the event highlighted that such gatherings play an important role in promoting mutual trust and understanding among different communities. General Secretary of the journalists’ association Abdul Waheed and Secretary Zubair Ahmad emphasized that the organization remains committed not only to journalism but also to fulfilling social and cultural responsibilities.

The event also saw the presence of several prominent community members including Aziz Siddiqui, M M Mohsin, Tauseef Hussain, Wamik Khan, Abhay Agrawal, Sanjay Gupta, Dr Zafar Khan, Mohammad Irfan and Najm Ahsan.
The gathering concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to peace, unity and communal harmony in society.
