Civic Bodies Gear Up Under Swachh Bharat Mission–Urban

 Anytime News Network. All Urban Local Bodies across the state will organize the “Swachh Ward Competition–2026” from February 17 to 28 under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). The initiative aims to strengthen preparedness for Swachh Survekshan–2026 and promote citizen-driven cleanliness.

Wards will be evaluated on 12 parameters including source segregation, door-to-door collection, composting, plastic ban, clean toilets, drainage cleaning, zero-waste events, IEC campaigns, and black spot transformation.

Top-performing wards will be awarded by respective civic bodies. The campaign seeks not just assessment but long-term behavioral change toward sustainable urban cleanliness.
