Notices to 32.6 Million Voters: UP Intensifies Special Electoral Roll Revision

10-Day Window for Objections; Hearings Underway Across the State

In a massive electoral roll verification drive, the Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh, Navdeep Rinwa, announced that notices are being issued to 32.6 million voters flagged under “No Mapping” and “Logical Discrepancies” in the draft roll published on January 6, 2026. So far, approximately 10.9 million notices have already been served, and hearings are underway.

Of the total, 10.4 million voters fall under “No Mapping” and 22.2 million under logical discrepancies. Lists have been shared with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and displayed at public offices, while also being made available online.

Affected voters have 10 days from publication to submit objections or documents. Authorities have been directed to ensure transparency, security, and adequate public facilities at hearing centres, with strict action promised against any negligence or misconduct.
