Aradhya Shah secures first position among nearly 8 lakh participants; students, parents and educators honoured in Lucknow

The 13th Genius Award Ceremony, organised by Prayas Student Welfare Society, was held at Holy Cross School in Lucknow, celebrating academic excellence and the remarkable potential of students from across Uttar Pradesh.
More than 8 lakh students participated in different levels of the Science and Mathematics competition, while nearly 4,300 talented students were selected for recognition. Along with the students, their parents, teachers, schools and principals were also honoured for their contribution to academic development.
A special highlight of the ceremony was the outstanding achievement of Aradhya Shah, who secured the first position among nearly 8 lakh participants. Her success brought pride to her school, family and Mainpuri district, and reflected the immense potential of students from smaller cities.
Speaking at the event, Lov Mohan, a young representative associated with a school in Mainpuri, strongly emphasised that children from Tier-Two cities are no less capable than students from metropolitan areas. He said that these students possess talent, determination and the desire to succeed, but often require the right guidance, exposure and opportunities to demonstrate their abilities.
Lov Mohan also shared that two girl students from his school had achieved notable success in the prestigious competition, bringing recognition to both the institution and the district. He stressed that such achievements challenge the perception that excellence is limited to major cities with better resources.
His remarks underlined the importance of creating equal platforms for students from smaller towns and rural areas. According to him, when children receive encouragement and proper direction, they can compete confidently at the highest levels and establish their own identity.
Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission Vice-Chairperson Aparna Yadav Bisht congratulated the students and said that children should be introduced not only to popular entertainment personalities but also to great national and state figures, administrative officers and important institutions. She emphasised the need to connect young minds with Indian culture, values and traditions while encouraging them to become responsible citizens.
The founder of Holy Cross School, Tomar, said that education must go beyond academic knowledge and include humanity and sensitivity. He noted that in the age of Artificial Intelligence and advanced technology, preserving human values is essential.
Prayas Student Welfare Society Chief Executive Amit Srivastava said the organisation aims to identify hidden talent and provide children with encouragement and a meaningful platform. The ceremony once again demonstrated that talent is not restricted by geography or resources. With proper support, students from smaller cities can achieve extraordinary success.
