The “Laghu Khadi and Village Industries Exhibition,” organized by the Uttar Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board, concluded successfully at its headquarters premises in Lucknow on February 28, 2026. Held from February 20 to 28, the exhibition aimed to promote indigenous products and provide artisans and entrepreneurs a strong marketing platform ahead of the Holi festival.
Organized under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and guided by MSME, Khadi & Village Industries Minister Rakesh Sachan, the exhibition witnessed participation from entrepreneurs across the state. Ravindra Kumar, Principal Secretary (Agriculture), graced the closing ceremony as Chief Guest and honoured outstanding participants with trophies and certificates. Gramodaya Sansthan, Sitapur secured the first prize (Khadi products), followed by Shruti Shukla, Lucknow, and Draksha Fashion, Lucknow.
A total of 46 stalls showcased a wide array of products including khadi garments, herbal gulal, honey, amla products, papad, snacks, bed sheets, towels, silk sarees, and handcrafted textiles. With Holi around the corner, footfall surged, leading to total sales of ₹54.23 lakh—surpassing last year’s ₹50.17 lakh.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest emphasized that the objective of such exhibitions is to create market access for local artisans and strengthen the “Vocal for Local” movement. The state government continues to promote khadi and village industries by enhancing quality standards and expanding self-employment opportunities.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Financial Advisor Manvendra Singh, who expressed gratitude to entrepreneurs, visitors, media representatives, and staff members. The exhibition marked a significant step toward strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s khadi and village industries sector.
