. Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of the Noida International Airport at Jewar and laid the foundation stone for a 40-acre Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility. Calling it a milestone in the “Viksit UP, Viksit Bharat” vision, the Prime Minister highlighted its transformative impact on the region.

He stated that Uttar Pradesh has now emerged as one of the states with the highest number of international airports in India. The Jewar Airport is expected to benefit districts like Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Etawah, and Faridabad, creating new avenues for farmers, MSMEs, and youth.

Emphasizing the importance of infrastructure, PM Modi remarked that airports are not just facilities but engines of growth. Improved connectivity will enable agricultural products from Western UP to access global markets more efficiently. He also stressed the government’s commitment to making India self-reliant in the MRO sector.

Referring to the ongoing crisis in West Asia, he noted that several countries are facing shortages of essential commodities. He assured that India is taking all necessary measures to protect its citizens, farmers, and economy from the impact, while maintaining its pace of development.

The Noida International Airport is one of India’s largest greenfield airport projects, developed at an investment of around ₹11,200 crore under the Public-Private Partnership model. Initially, it will handle 12 million passengers annually, with scalability up to 70 million passengers.

The event was attended by Anandiben Patel, Yogi Adityanath, and K. Rammohan Naidu, among other dignitaries.
