PNB Soldierthon 2026 Unites 27,000 Runners in Tribute to Armed Forces

The grand ‘PNB Soldierthon 2026’, organized by Punjab National Bank, emerged as one of India’s largest running events, bringing together over 27,000 participants in a powerful display of fitness and patriotism.
Held at the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, the marathon was flagged off by distinguished dignitaries including Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh, Chief of Naval Staff Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, DFS Secretary M. Nagaraju, and PNB MD & CEO Ashok Chandra.
Organized under the theme “Run With Soldiers – Run For Soldiers,” the event saw participation from soldiers, athletes, fitness enthusiasts, PNB employees, and citizens from all walks of life. Over 1,500 volunteers contributed to the seamless execution of the marathon.
The dignitaries praised the initiative, highlighting its role in promoting fitness culture while strengthening the bond between civilians and the armed forces. Governor Vijay Kumar Singh lauded PNB for successfully organizing such a large-scale event, emphasizing its positive message of health, discipline, and community engagement.
Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi noted that such events serve as a heartfelt tribute to the courage and sacrifices of India’s armed forces while fostering unity and resilience among citizens.
PNB MD & CEO Ashok Chandra reiterated the bank’s commitment to nation-building, stating that the Soldierthon reflects the legacy of founder Lala Lajpat Rai and honors the spirit of service and sacrifice.
In the competition, Satyam and Neeta Rani emerged as winners in the 21.1 km category, while Gaurav and Sanjana Singh secured top positions in the 10 km race.
Aligned with the Fit India Movement, the event successfully reinforced the importance of fitness, unity, and national pride.
