In a unique initiative to promote road safety awareness, the All India Federation of Motor Vehicle Technical Officer Association organized a two-day cricket tournament in Bengaluru, bringing together transport department teams from 14 states across India.

Amid this national-level event, Hariom, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (Administration/Enforcement) from Badaun, has been appointed as the team manager of the Uttar Pradesh Transport Department cricket team. Notably, he is also an active player in the squad, adding both leadership and on-field strength to the team.

Hariom also serves as the State General Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Divisional Inspector (Technical) Service Association, showcasing his administrative as well as organizational capabilities. His appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen team coordination and performance.

During the event, Hariom and Shivshankar Singh, Assistant Regional Transport Officer from Bijnor, were honoured with the Road Safety Award by the Transport Minister of Karnataka for their outstanding contribution to promoting road safety.

The tournament aims not only to encourage sportsmanship among transport officials but also to spread awareness about road safety practices at a national level. It provides a platform for inter-state collaboration and exchange of ideas among officials.

The Uttar Pradesh team is expected to perform strongly under Hariom’s leadership, reflecting both discipline and teamwork. This initiative highlights how transport departments are extending their role beyond administration to actively engage in public awareness and social responsibility.
