The national-level ‘Unnat Krishi Mahotsav’ concluded on a grand note in Raisen, witnessing participation from thousands of farmers and agricultural experts. Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Shivraj Singh Chouhan outlined a transformative roadmap aimed at boosting farmers’ income and modernizing agriculture.
Addressing the gathering, Nitin Gadkari emphasized that farmers will no longer remain just food producers but will evolve into providers of energy, fuel, biofuels, and even hydrogen. He highlighted the importance of adopting technologies such as AI, drones, satellite-based systems, and nano urea to reduce costs and enhance productivity.
He stressed water conservation as a critical factor and promoted dairy, fisheries, and the blue economy as key drivers of rural income. He also urged farmers to focus on processing, cold storage, and value addition to ensure better market returns.
Meanwhile, Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that the event marks a new beginning rather than an end. He announced the formation of a task force to implement a “seed-to-market” roadmap, including seed villages, machine banks, drip irrigation systems, FPO strengthening, and cold chain infrastructure.
Gadkari also approved key infrastructure proposals, including the Raisen Ring Road project, following demands raised by Chouhan, promising enhanced regional connectivity and development.
The event concluded with the distribution of benefits to farmers and demonstrations of modern agricultural practices, setting the stage for a more resilient, technology-driven farming ecosystem in India.
