Fuel Price Fears Rise: Inflation Pressure Likely to Hit Middle & Lower Classes Again
Anytime News Network | By Pooja Srivastava
India is witnessing renewed concerns over rising inflation as commercial LPG cylinder prices have surged sharply by ₹993 in one go. Reports indicate that in Delhi, the price of a commercial cylinder is now expected to cross ₹3000, triggering widespread concern among small businesses, eateries, and middle-class households.
Mayawati has strongly reacted to the development, questioning the government’s pricing strategy. She highlighted that the increase comes at a time when the common people are already struggling with inflation, and any further hike in petrol, diesel, or domestic LPG could worsen the situation significantly.
Global geopolitical tensions, particularly involving the US, Israel, and Iran, are being cited as possible reasons behind the price hike. However, critics argue that the government had previously managed to keep fuel prices relatively stable during election periods and should continue similar policies in the interest of public welfare.
Experts warn that the rise in commercial LPG prices could have a cascading effect on transportation, food costs, and essential commodities. This could further strain the budgets of lower and middle-income groups, who are already under financial pressure.
There is growing demand for the government to reassess its pricing policies and take corrective measures to shield citizens from the burden of rising fuel costs.
