Ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festival, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has started special preparations to ensure safe, smooth, and comfortable travel for passengers across the state. Uttar Pradesh Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh has issued detailed instructions to officials regarding bus safety, passenger facilities, and operational readiness.

The minister directed all regional officials to immediately conduct physical and mechanical fitness checks of buses. Any technical faults or maintenance issues must be resolved on priority before buses are allowed back on the roads. Authorities have also been asked to ensure maximum operational availability of buses during the festive rush.

To improve passenger convenience, the government has instructed bus stations to maintain proper seating arrangements, clean drinking water facilities, hygienic toilets, and regular sanitation measures. Officials have also been asked to ensure lime spraying near toilets and maintain overall cleanliness at bus terminals.

The transport department has made it clear that buses with broken windows or damaged seats should not be operated. All vehicles must be clean, safe, and roadworthy before deployment.

The minister also emphasized courteous behavior by drivers, conductors, and transport staff. Employees have been instructed to treat passengers respectfully and provide assistance whenever needed. Training sessions on public behavior and passenger management may also be conducted.

For safety reasons, the transport department has imposed a strict ban on carrying inflammable or prohibited materials inside buses during the festival period. Instructions have also been issued to keep first-aid kits available in all buses and ensure that public announcement systems at bus stations remain functional at all times.

The minister appealed to passengers to cooperate with transport authorities and immediately report any inconvenience during travel so that prompt action can be taken.
