As Uttar Pradesh marches aggressively toward its ambitious goal of becoming a 1-trillion-dollar economy, the state’s energy landscape is experiencing an unprecedented surge in demand. Addressing this critical juncture, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) successfully hosted the 6th Edition of the CII Uttar Pradesh Clean Energy Summit 2026 in Lucknow, uniting policymakers, energy titans, and industry experts to shape a sustainable energy future.

The Rising Power Crisis and Strategic Solutions: Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Ashish Goel, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary (Additional Sources of Energy) & Chairman of UPNEDA, underscored that the exponential rise of AI data centers, electric vehicles, and rapid industrialization will push UP’s peak electricity demand to over 40,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2034. He stressed that scaling up renewable energy must go hand-in-hand with robust energy storage, advanced grid management, and round-the-clock balancing solutions.

Collaborative Industry Action: Industry leaders—including Vinamra Agarwal (Chairman, CII Clean Energy Summit), Gaurav Pilania, Dinesh Batra (Executive VP, Hindustan Power), alongside key innovators like Ashish Tak (Co-Founder, Greyn Power) and Kashif Nisar Khan—deliberated on practical pathways. Discussions highlighted massive solar investments, such as the 435 MWp Lalitpur solar project, aimed at bolstering clean capacity. The conclave emphasized that fostering R&D, building dedicated industrial clean-tech clusters, and encouraging distributed renewables will establish Uttar Pradesh as India’s premier green energy powerhouse.
