The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, signed strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with PhonePe and Shell India Pvt. Ltd. on August 19, 2026.
This powerful collaboration is designed to unlock new horizons for DPIIT-recognized startups by providing seamless access to cutting-edge technology, robust digital infrastructure, invaluable mentorship, and vast industry networks.
Key Highlights of the Partnerships:
PhonePe’s Digital Boost: Startups will benefit from transaction credits via PhonePe’s Payment Gateway, exclusive access to the Indus AppStore, dedicated onboarding support, and high-impact brand visibility. Furthermore, PhonePe will host regular masterclasses on fintech, scaling, and market strategies.
Shell India’s Clean-Tech Focus: Shell India will champion startups in the energy and climate-tech sectors. Founders will receive expert mentorship, strategic guidance, investor connects, and exclusive opportunities to join the renowned Shell E4 Smart Energy Track, driving India’s clean energy transition.
Knowledge & Ecosystem Growth: The partnership will co-create impactful white papers, sectoral success stories, and policy briefs to highlight emerging innovations and best practices.
