Uttar Pradesh team highlights need for basic infrastructure, institutional support and effective implementation of schemes

: With a strong focus on strengthening SC/ST entrepreneurship at the grassroots level, the Uttar Pradesh team of DICCI actively participated in the SIDBI–Grant Thornton High-Level Conference in the presence of DICCI Uttar Pradesh President Manish Verma.
The participation placed key concerns of SC/ST entrepreneurs at the centre of discussions, particularly issues related to the basic facilities required for businesses, institutional support and effective implementation of government schemes.
DICCI emphasised that providing entrepreneurs with information about schemes and policies alone is not enough. What is required is practical support that enables entrepreneurs to establish businesses, overcome operational challenges and expand their enterprises.
During the conference, the DICCI team highlighted the need for stronger institutional mechanisms through which SC/ST entrepreneurs can access the support required to turn business opportunities into sustainable enterprises. The organisation expressed its expectation for concrete, practical and outcome-oriented support from the concerned institutions.
The initiative reflects DICCI’s broader approach towards inclusive entrepreneurship. SC/ST entrepreneurs possess significant business potential, skills and ambition, but gaps in access to resources, institutional guidance, infrastructure and effective implementation of schemes can become major barriers to growth.
DICCI stressed that stronger coordination between government institutions, financial institutions and entrepreneur organisations can help bridge this gap. Such coordination can ensure that support reaches entrepreneurs at the stage where it is actually needed—not merely at the level of policy announcements.
The organisation reiterated its commitment to moving beyond a conventional information-sharing model. Its stated objective is to ensure that SC/ST entrepreneurs receive real and ground-level assistance for setting up, strengthening and expanding their businesses.
The participation of the DICCI Uttar Pradesh team at the SIDBI–Grant Thornton conference therefore highlighted an important message: inclusive entrepreneurship requires more than schemes—it requires effective implementation, accessible institutional support and measurable outcomes on the ground.
