SC/ST Entrepreneurs Gain New Business Opportunities in Kanpur

Special Vendor Development Program opens doors to government procurement, MSME schemes and institutional partnerships

A special Entrepreneur Awareness and Vendor Development Program for SC/ST entrepreneurs was successfully organised at the Merchants Chamber of Commerce, Kanpur, with the joint participation of the National SC/ST Hub and DICCI UP Chapter.

The programme focused on creating greater awareness among SC/ST entrepreneurs about government schemes, MSME policies and the wide range of business opportunities available through partnerships with government departments, public sector undertakings and major institutions.

Representatives from HAL, DIC, UPSIC, GeM, IIT, CA, MSME, Walmart, CSMU, Banking/LDM, the Federation of Indian Export Organisations and business associations actively participated in the programme. They provided practical guidance on vendor development, government procurement, finance, market access, technology, exports and institutional business opportunities.

The programme offered entrepreneurs a valuable platform to understand how government procurement systems and institutional networks can help small and emerging enterprises expand their market reach. Discussions also highlighted the importance of formal business networks, policy awareness and timely access to institutional support for building sustainable enterprises.

The successful organisation of the programme was supported by DICCI UP President Manish Verma, National SC/ST Hub and MSME CGM Vijay Prakash, NSSH Lucknow In-charge Ravi Oran and the entire NSSH team. DICCI senior member Deo Mani Saroj and members of the state team, including Nirmaljeet, Bharat, Arvind, Dr. Satish Ambedkar, Sushil, Sudhakar and Vikram, also made significant contributions.

The regional support team comprising Neetu, Prashant, Rajneesh Arya and Kabir played an active role in strengthening the programme. Special appreciation was also expressed for Alok Srivastava, KP Sheel, Arun Samudre and representatives of participating institutions for their valuable cooperation.

With around 250 SC/ST entrepreneurs participating, the programme emerged as a strong platform for awareness, networking and business development. The initiative underlined the growing importance of connecting SC/ST enterprises with institutional buyers and wider markets.

The next destination in this outreach initiative is Bhadohi on September 21, 2026, where the focus is expected to move further towards empowering entrepreneurs with practical business opportunities and stronger market linkages.
