Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has launched a strong political attack on the Samajwadi Party, questioning its claim of representing ‘PDA’ politics. In a social-media post, she alleged that the SP’s political conduct does not match its stated commitment to backward classes, Dalits and minorities.
Family Politics Under Fire
Mayawati claimed that the BSP does not follow the pattern of giving electoral tickets primarily to family members, close relatives or influential wealthy individuals. She asserted that her party instead focuses on workers and people belonging to economically and socially weaker sections.
She contrasted this approach with what she described as the Samajwadi Party’s alleged preference for family members and close associates in electoral politics.
Rajya Sabha Election Cited
The BSP chief referred to the upcoming biennial Rajya Sabha election from Uttar Pradesh and questioned the SP’s decision to nominate Ram Gopal Yadav again. She also referred to Dhanraj Parmal Nathwani as another SP candidate, using the example to question the party’s political positioning.
‘PDA’ Claim Challenged
Mayawati argued that if the Samajwadi Party presents itself as a political force representing ‘PDA’, voters should examine whether its candidate selection and political decisions reflect that claim.
Her criticism seeks to place the SP’s social-justice narrative under direct public scrutiny, particularly among communities that form an important part of Uttar Pradesh’s electoral landscape.
Appeal to Marginalised Communities
The BSP chief specifically appealed to Dalits, Adivasis, extremely backward communities, Muslims and other religious minorities to remain politically alert ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
She asserted that the interests of these communities are better protected within the Ambedkarite political framework represented by the BSP.
Political Temperature Rises
The statement adds a sharper edge to the political contest in Uttar Pradesh, where questions of social representation, electoral alliances and community-based political mobilisation are expected to remain central to the election discourse.
The claims and allegations in Mayawati’s post represent her political position; the material provided does not contain a response from the Samajwadi Party.
