Akhilesh Yadav, National President of the Samajwadi Party, has made strong remarks highlighting India’s composite culture while simultaneously launching a sharp attack on the government over the issue of rising gas prices and availability.
Speaking about the country’s social fabric, Akhilesh Yadav said that the true beauty of India lies in its tradition of unity and mutual respect among communities. According to him, people celebrating each other’s festivals and sharing in each other’s happiness reflects the essence of India’s cultural harmony.

“Our country’s greatest beauty is that people participate in each other’s festivals and celebrations. This is our Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb and a composite culture that is rarely seen anywhere else in the world,” he said.

However, the Samajwadi Party chief also used the occasion to criticize the government over the issue of cooking gas. Taking a sharp dig, he remarked, “If there is anyone who spreads the biggest rumours, it is the government. The reality is that the gas itself has disappeared.”

The statement is being viewed as a political attack on the government over rising inflation and the cost of domestic LPG cylinders, an issue that has frequently been raised by opposition parties in recent months. Leaders of the Samajwadi Party argue that common citizens are facing increasing financial pressure due to high prices of essential commodities.

Political observers believe that Akhilesh Yadav’s remarks carry a dual message. On one hand, he is emphasizing India’s shared cultural heritage and the spirit of communal harmony; on the other, he is using economic concerns such as gas prices to challenge the government’s policies.

As debates over inflation and public welfare intensify, such statements are likely to fuel further political discussion in the coming months.
