Nurses Honoured at State Takmil-ut-Tib College on International Nurses Day

State Takmil-ut-Tib College and Hospital celebrated International Nurses Day with enthusiasm and gratitude at its Department of Niswan wa Qabalat (Gynecology & Obstetrics). The event recognised the selfless contribution and dedication of nursing professionals toward healthcare and patient care.
Speaking at the event, Head of Department Professor Maniram Singh said that International Nurses Day is observed every year on May 12 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, regarded as the founder of modern nursing. He stated that nurses are the backbone of healthcare services and play a vital role in saving lives with compassion, patience, and commitment.
Highlighting this year’s theme, “Our Nurses, Our Future – Caring Nurses Strengthen Healthcare,” Prof. Singh said nurses are not only healthcare providers but also symbols of hope and humanity for patients and families. He praised nursing staff for their tireless service and dedication in challenging situations.
Research scholars including Dr Ayesha, Dr Gazala, Dr Farheen, and Dr Fatima also shared their thoughts during the programme and appreciated the crucial role played by nurses in hospitals and emergency healthcare systems. Nursing staff members spoke about teamwork, patient care, and the emotional responsibilities associated with the profession.
A special moment during the celebration was the birthday celebration of Nursing In-Charge Mrs Saba Khan. Staff members and doctors extended warm wishes and celebrated the occasion by cutting a cake together.
The event was attended by nursing staff members including Azra, Niharika, Pooja, Ashiyana, Shubhi Shabnam, Aarti, Kandha, and Amrita, along with junior doctors Dr Zeenat and Dr Saman Khan. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Maniram Singh, who appreciated the efforts of all participants and healthcare workers.
